Shelf Cards and Public Profiles: Showing What You Read

Four share card layouts and a public reading profile — how to turn your Shelfies library into something worth posting.

Reading is mostly private, and then occasionally you finish something and want to tell everyone. Share cards are for that second thing.

Four layouts

• Classic — the shelf, the covers, the totals. The default for a good reason.
• Journey — reading over time, for a month or a year in one image.
• Minimal — one book, clean, no chrome.
• Quote — a passage you saved, typeset properly, with the book attributed.

The quote layout is the one people use most, because a good line travels further than a star rating ever will.

Public profile

One shareable page showing what you are reading and what you have finished — for a link in a bio, or for the friend who keeps asking for recommendations. It is off unless you turn it on, and it shows only what you choose.

Year in Review, shared

The end-of-year summary exports as a card too. It is the one post a year that reliably makes other people want to start tracking their own reading, which is either a feature or a warning depending on your temperament.

Entirely optional

Worth saying plainly: none of this is required. Plenty of readers keep everything private and use Shelfies purely as a personal record — the sharing is there when you want it and silent when you do not.
